Meet
Matt Ewonus

Born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, I graduated from Simon Fraser University and later met the love of my life, Sonya Looney. Together, we’re raising two amazing kids, sharing a passion for outdoor adventures, health, and wellness. With a deep curiosity and love of learning, I thrive on connecting with people, making thoughtful decisions, and finding inspiration in the beauty and excellence of life, all while striving to lead with mindfulness and purpose in everything I do.

I’ve earned the Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) designation, enhancing my ability to guide clients and their families through retirement, healthcare, long-term care, and estate planning decisions with clarity and confidence.

11th Annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Event Fundraiser

I was proud to continue supporting the 11th Annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Event through Latitude Financial. This impactful initiative continues to raise vital funds for scholarships and bursaries, helping student-athletes succeed both academically and athletically. It’s an honor to play a small part in their ongoing journey.

The Wandering Moose in Kelowna

I had a different approach to this race - just be 'active' throughout the year and hope it works out on race day!  It's been a couple years of getting sick very regularly as our kids have started school and preschool.  This is a pretty common experience for most families. In the last couple years, I found that I could only go to about 25% of the races I signed up for as I was always sick!  Either I couldn't train, or I was sick on Race Day.  So, this time, I just showed up with no training and no expectations.  I am happy to say that I finished with a smile on my face, and an even greater appreciation for actually doing some dedicated training!  Pace Trail Runs put on the race and has created an amazing community. I was happy to plug into that for the day!
